can YOU prevent an outbreak?

      Hello and welcome to my Action Project (AP) for my STEAM class, Disease. In this Unit, we have explored the reproductive rates of diseases, as well as historical outbreaks and CDC reports. All of this information, in addition to speaking with experts at the CDC, has prepared us for this AP. We had the opportunity to ask questions about what kind of work is done at the Center for Disease Control, and how people can help prevent the spread of diseases. In this AP, each student was randomly assigned a disease outbreak to research. This information was then used to form several reccomendations related to prevention of spreading the disease and, ultimately, prevention of another outbreak. I was assigned Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease. Understanding sexual health will play a key role in preventing future outbreaks, and more supporting information is included in the slideshow below.
